Can’t Stop the World

Summer 2006
Summer 2008

Update: I know now this was completely vague but at the time I couldn’t say much without breaking down into tears. March 7th, 2009 my dear Grandma died of complications of Alzheimer’s Disease leaving behind a husband of 60 years, 4 children, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and countless friends. I’d been her primary caregiver since May of 2006 and watching her die was one of the most difficult times in my life.  The post title comes from the Gavin Degraw song Can’t Stop the World that a friend of mine sent me a few years back.

  1. I am sorry to hear that your grandmother passed away. Know that you were the most attentive and loving of granddaughters. You have placed her, and your grandfather’s, need above your own interest time and time again. As you were blessed to know then, they are blessed to have you.

    You are in my prayers.

  2. Wow, that is such a pretty picture. She actually looks a lot like my step-grandmother in that photo, but way prettier 😉

    Sympathies, again, on your loss.
